1. Information We Process and How We Use It

1.1 Hydration Records

When you use the hydration tracking feature, the App processes information that you enter or select, such as the amount consumed, time of consumption, beverage type, and daily hydration goal. We use this information to:

• display your current and historical hydration records;
• calculate your hydration progress and goal completion; and
• help you review your hydration habits.

You provide this information voluntarily, and it is stored locally on your device.

1.2 Hydration and Activity Reminder Settings

When you configure hydration or activity reminders, the App processes your selected reminder times, frequency, active time periods, and on/off settings to schedule local notifications on your device.

The App will request notification permission when necessary. You may refuse this permission or turn off notifications at any time in your device settings. If notifications are disabled, you may continue to use hydration tracking, activity recording, and other features, but you will not receive hydration or activity reminders.

1.3 Activity Session Records and Motion Data

Drinkiva does not automatically import historical steps or continuously count steps before you start an activity. When you select Walk, Brisk Walk, or Run and tap Start, the App requests Motion & Fitness permission when required and processes motion data from your device’s sensors to estimate steps while that activity session is active.

Depending on how you use the feature, the App may process:

• the activity type you select, such as Walk, Brisk Walk, or Run;
• session start, pause, resume, and end times;
• motion signals needed to detect movement and estimate steps during the active session; and
• the resulting step total, goal progress, and activity statistics shown in the App.

Tracking begins only after you tap Start. Step estimation pauses when you pause the session and ends when you finish it. Raw motion sensor signals are processed for step estimation and are not uploaded to our servers or to Firebase. The activity records saved by the App are stored locally on your device.

The App does not request or use location permission for activity recording. It does not obtain or record your real-time geographic location, route, or specific places visited. If you refuse or revoke Motion & Fitness permission, activity recording may not function correctly, but hydration tracking and reminder features will remain available.

1.4 Mood Check-In Records

When you use the mood check-in feature, the App processes the mood and feeling tags you select, the date of the entry, and any optional note you choose to add. We use this information to display your saved check-ins and mood calendar and to help you review your own entries over time.

Mood check-ins and optional notes are provided voluntarily and are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or to Firebase.

1.5 Crash Diagnostic Information

To identify and resolve crashes, improve stability, and enhance the user experience, the App integrates Firebase Crashlytics. When a crash or error occurs, Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects and processes:

• the crash time, exception type, stack trace, and relevant application state at the time of the crash;
• device model, operating system name and version, app identifier, and app version; and
• randomly generated app installation identifiers, including the Crashlytics Installation UUID, Firebase Installation ID, and session ID.

These installation identifiers are used to distinguish app installations, deduplicate crashes, and calculate the number of installations affected by a crash. They are not your name, phone number, or account information. Because the App has no account system, we do not intentionally provide Firebase Crashlytics with user information that directly identifies you. We also do not include your hydration records, reminder settings, activity records, step totals, mood entries, or optional mood notes in custom crash-report fields or logs.

Crash diagnostic information is transmitted over the internet to Firebase services provided by Google and stored on Google’s servers. It is used only to analyze failures, resolve issues, and improve the App’s stability.

1.6 Other Information We Do Not Intentionally Process

Except as expressly described in this Privacy Policy, the App does not require account registration and does not intentionally access your name, phone number, email address, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise geographic location.

2. How and How Long We Store Information

1. Your hydration records, reminder settings, activity session records, locally generated step statistics, mood entries, and optional mood notes are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers or to Firebase.
2. The App retains local information only for as long as needed to provide the relevant features. You may delete records in the App. Uninstalling the App will generally delete information stored in the App’s local storage.
3. Raw motion sensor signals used to estimate steps are not retained as part of your saved activity history. The App saves the resulting activity record and step total locally when needed to provide its reports and related features.
4. According to Firebase’s published practices, Crashlytics generally retains crash stack traces, related identifiers, and extracted crash data for 90 days before beginning the process of removing them from live and backup systems, unless a longer period is required by law.

If you enable a system backup service provided by your device manufacturer, the App’s local data may be included in that backup. Such backups are processed by the relevant system service provider under its own terms. You can manage backups in your device settings.

3. Sharing, Transfer, and Public Disclosure

The App does not upload your hydration records, reminder settings, activity session records, step totals, mood entries, or optional mood notes to our servers or to Firebase. We do not share, transfer, or publicly disclose this information to any other company, organization, or individual.

To provide crash diagnostics, we engage Google to process the crash diagnostic information described in Section 1.5. Google processes this information only as necessary to provide Firebase Crashlytics and applies security measures under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms.

If disclosure is required by applicable law or by a lawful request from a court, regulator, or other public authority, we will process information only to the extent legally required. Except for crash diagnostic information processed through Firebase Crashlytics, hydration, activity, and mood information is stored locally on your device by default, and we generally do not possess a copy that we can provide.

4. Third-Party Services and International Data Processing

The App uses the following third-party service:

Firebase service infrastructure may be located outside the country or region where you live. As a result, crash diagnostic information may be transferred to and processed in another country or region. We require the service provider to protect the information in accordance with applicable law and our contractual arrangements, and we will provide notice, obtain consent, or take other compliance measures where required by law.

The notification and Motion & Fitness capabilities used by the App are provided through iOS. Your permission choices and related system capabilities are also governed by your device settings and Apple’s applicable privacy practices.

5. How You Can Manage Your Information and Permissions

1. Access and correction: You can view hydration records, reminder settings, activity session records, step statistics, mood entries, and optional mood notes in the App and modify information that you entered.
2. Deletion: You can delete relevant records in the App or uninstall the App to delete information stored locally by the App.
3. Notification permission: You can enable or disable notifications in the App’s notification settings on your device.
4. Motion & Fitness permission: You can enable or disable the App’s permission under Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness on your device.
5. Crash diagnostic information: You may contact us using the email address in Section 9 to request access to, correction of, or deletion of crash diagnostic information. Because the App has no account system, this information is not associated with your name or an account. To help identify a relevant record, we may ask for limited information such as your app version, device model, and approximate crash time.
6. Contact us: If you cannot exercise your rights through the methods above, you may submit a request using the contact information in Section 9.

Revoking consent or permission does not affect processing lawfully completed before the revocation.

6. Information Security

We follow the principle of data minimization and process only the information needed to provide hydration tracking and reminders, user-started activity recording, mood check-ins, and crash diagnostics. The App uses the iOS app sandbox and device security mechanisms to protect local data. We also require the Firebase service provider to apply appropriate technical and organizational measures under its data processing and security terms to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device with a screen-lock passcode, biometric authentication, and other available safeguards. If an information security incident may affect your rights and interests, we will take remedial action and notify you where required by applicable law.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 14. If you are under 14, please review this Privacy Policy with a parent or legal guardian and use the App only with their consent.

If a future feature causes us to process a child’s personal information, we will apply the protections required by law. If we learn that we have processed personal information from a child under 14 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, we will promptly delete or anonymize it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or applicable law. The updated policy will be published in the App or on the privacy policy page and will show the date of the latest revision. If an update materially changes the purposes, methods, or categories of information we process, we will provide an appropriate notice and obtain consent again where required by law.

We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without obtaining any additional consent required by law.

Individual health conditions vary, and we do not represent that this content is suitable for every user.
